Though the word “specialist” is in her job title, Xan considers her role at History Factory to be that of a generalist. She likes to have her hands on every step of the creative process, from concept development to script writing to video asset sourcing.
“Our clients often come to us concerned that their heritage isn’t worth sharing. I’ve never found that to be true. Inside every corporate history is a human story, with ups and downs, characters and conflict—the art is in the telling.”
Ever since she could walk, Xan has wanted to be on stage—whether she’s in front of a thousand strangers or a few dozen of her peers, artful communication is her raison d’être. Her background in theatre means she will live the rest of her life plagued by Aristotle’s “Poetics”; she tends to think of all the content she produces in terms of audience, intention and character.
